One of the biggest parts of any invitation is the font. It can instantly give an indication of the style of your wedding, and can be a major part of the overall design.

A script font gives a classic look to an invitation. It is reminiscent of handwritten calligraphy, and is perfect for a traditional wedding. There are a variety of script styles available, from the very ornate to the relatively simple.

Non-script fonts can also be great for wedding invitations. They can be used for almost any style of wedding. Traditional weddings can use a style that uses all capitals, which is also perfect for some 1920s inspired weddings.

For any wedding, and any wedding invitation, there is a perfect font available. Working with a professional invitation designer can allow you to find the ideal combination for your big day.

Whatever font styles you like, get in touch with us to see how we can help design your perfect invitation.

In this year’s Real Wedding Survey, conducted by TheKnot.com and WeddingChannel.com, the results showed that more and more brides are sending save the date cards to their guests.

Almost 70% of brides are now including these as part of their wedding stationery.

Save the Date Card

As we talked about before, save the date cards can be a huge help for your guests. It gives them extra time to book travel, time off work, and can even help them save up for a really special gift for you and your fiance.

For brides planning whole weekend weddings, with a rehearsal dinner on Friday, the wedding on Saturday, and a morning-after brunch on Sunday, a save the date card can be even more important.

NBA star LeBron James is planning just such a weekend, as a recently leaked copy of his save the date card showed. He and his fiancee, Savannah have sent “save the weekend” cards to their guests.

The Oscars might have the most televised envelopes each year, but your invitations can take something from them. The envelope you send your invitations in are an important part of your wedding stationery.

wedding envelope

The best invitations are sent in matching envelopes. If you have a heavyweight ivory card stock for your invitations, you will want to pair them with a similar feeling envelope. Using any old envelope will undercut the beauty of the card itself.

One great way of making envelopes a bit more special is to opt for an interior color. This gives a secret excitement to your invitation. When your guests open the envelope, they get to see a hint of the invitation that’s inside.

This can also be used to add a splash of color to a black and white invitation. This can be a hint of your wedding colors, or just a dramatic addition to the overall look.

Another thing to consider is how your envelopes close. Whether you opt for a traditional envelope or a fold out envelope like they use at many awards ceremonies, we’re happy to help you find the perfect style for your invitation. Get in touch today to find out more about how the right envelope can make your invitation stand out.

In recent years, more couples are deciding against sending out a traditional paper invitation. What they find out, though, is that the benefits of sending printed invitations is priceless.

Your wedding invitation can set the tone for your wedding.  Your guests will be able to learn a lot from the invitation when they get it in the mail. They’ll have all the essential information, along with clues about the style, colors, and theme of your big day.

Paper wedding invitations will also make it easy to reach every guest. The downside of digital invites is that some of your guests, particularly older relatives, might not have access to the internet.

You also can’t track your invitations as easily when you make them digital. With paper invitations, you’ll be able to keep a list of who has been invited and who has returned their RSVP. It also allows you to keep unwanted guests from getting all the details about your wedding.

There are plenty of reasons why a traditional paper wedding invitation is important. If you want to know more, or talk about designing your invitations, get in touch today!

While many couples want something highly decorative for their wedding invitations, many people prefer a more minimalist style for theirs.

Of course, having a simple or minimal design doesn’t mean that it will lack anything. A classic design option can combine the style and information you need to include in your invitation without overwhelming it.

This example shows this in a great way. The couple have been able to convey all the information their guests will need, and have also given a hint about the formality of their wedding.

It also offers a clean, classy style that guests will be thrilled to receive. An invitation should reflect who you are as a couple, and the type of wedding you want to have. Don’t feel obliged to follow a trend for the sake of it.

Lately, we’ve been thinking about ways to include guests who can’t make it to a wedding. Whether some of your friends and family aren’t able to attend, or you want to honor those who have passed away, we love the idea of having a memory tree.

Wedding Memory Tree

This is an elegant addition to a wedding, and you can also use it as a way to involve the guests who are in attendance.

Send a special card off to guests who can’t attend and ask them to write a special note to you and your fiancé. Hang these notes, along with special memories of those who have passed away, from a lovely tree centerpiece.

You can leave a stack of matching cards for your guests to write on and hang on the tree. The tree itself can be a great focal point of your décor, and the cards are a great alternative to a guest book.

How are you involving people who won’t be there on your big day? Tell us your ideas in the comments or get in touch!

A wedding day isn’t just exciting and a touch nerve-wracking for the bride. There’s always her helpers – the bridesmaids – to think about too. It’s a big day for them and they’re there to see you have the time of your life. But in order to keep them sweet their needs have to be considered too. So:

  • Keep their budgets in mind. This applies to the cost of the bridesmaid’s dresses in particular if they’re having to pay for them themselves. Folks are worried about the recession these days so may not be so keen to splash out big bucks on a dress.
  • Don’t insist they come everywhere with you that’s wedding related. Sure they’ll be excited for you and want to be part of your plans, but they do have a life of their own too. Try not to tie them up too much with wedding arrangements.

When it comes to designing the all-important stationary for your wedding – the invitations, place cards, envelopes, menus and order of service – how do you decide what to opt for in terms of material, font and event type face?

The main design decision, you won’t be too surprised to hear, actually stems around the theme of your Big Day. A Vintage Wedding for instance will involve ivory or buttery white colored card while a more glitzy extravaganza would probably run to shiny silver or gold festooned card.

Other ideas to enhance your wedding invites include:

  • Pop-up designs
  • Get your envelopes hand-lined with colored tissue paper (our own personal favourite)
  • Get both the bride and groom’s initials monogrammed on the invites (very posh!)
  • Have the wedding invitations laser cut
